Ditching the Dock Connector may be Apple’s next strategy
iMore recently spread the news about Apple’s attempt to ditch the dock connector that is implemented on iPods, iPhones and iPads. Apple’s main reason is to have more space inside the iPhone 5 and this way make room for other necessary components.

Apple is famous for innovations, of switching things with the purpose of making everything more practical. Going from the average mini SIM card to the micro SIM card for the iPad is a living proof. The antenna was also removed from the core package and placed on the edge on the latest version of the iPhone. So Apple succeeded in providing 10 hours of battery life, Retina Dispay, HSPA radio and of course worth being mentioned, 802.11n Wi-Fi. Placing the antenna on the outside and changing to another SIM made room for power hungry components.
Just as in the previous case, a “micro dock” would save a lot of space for other components like 4G radios and bigger batteries.
