Evolution of telephones – smartphones (iPhone) from 1970 to 2012
The evolution of telephones from 1925, the first version of the rotary telephone, has definitely known major changes. The 80’s came with the first flip cell phone, having the possibility of carrying your device with you everywhere.
iPhone was not the first smartphone that provided touch screen but IBM Simon, a rough non-colored big-sized device that appeared in 1994. In 2007, Steve Jobs introduced the latest generation touch screen device that changed completely the whole perspective of smartphones.
When the first iPhone was introduced, the CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer believed that it would be a total failure because it didn’t possess a keyboard (essential for business men when writing emails) and because it was the most expensive phone in the world ($500). Surprisingly, it became history.
Now, the iPhone is in big competition with the Android device for the best and most wanted smartphones on the market. The iPhone 5 is expected to chuckle over success from the first days of its arrival on the market and it’s no doubt that Apple will surprise its fans with even more advanced features.
