The new iPhone to come with a 19-Pin Connector

Previous rumors have argued that Apple will abandon the usual dock connector, coming with a smaller and rounded one, being almost half of the predecessor’s size (16 pin). It seems that now Apple has big plans in minimizing the current connector of 30-pin for providing a 19-pin port.

The new port as highlighted in the pictures show that it is much smaller and it’s being compared to the size of a micro USB. As denoted in the pictures and video, the port is similar to the one available on the majority of MacBook gadgets, namely the Thunderbolt port. Details from pictures show that the new iPhone is expected to come in a bigger size 58.47 mm wide, 123.83 mm high and 7.6 mm thin and as for the screen 4”. It’s interesting to see if the earphone jack would be relocated to the button of the phone as shown in the picture. The original 30 pin port has been adopted ever since the release of the third generation of iPod. Apple’s strategy is saving as much space inside each device as possible.

It’s stated that the existence of a new port is confirmed but due to Apple’s secrecy, the exact specifications have not been announced. Fans would have to get brand new accessories, including adaptors. It seems that Apple is constantly evolving to better things and bringing the latest generation to their gadgets. No wonder other companies tend to copy Apple devices as soon as they arrive on the market.
