Apple acquired in February the app search engine Chomp in order to better organize the App Store. The great issue concerning Chomp’s acquisition was the deal with Verizon that was making possible also the Android apps download.
Few days ago Apple announced that Chomp for Android was shut down, bringing this issue to an end.
When accessing Chomp.com the “Download Chomp” tab redirects one to the iTunes download page keeping only the downloads for iPhone and iPad. Anyway, as a user revealed to 9to5 Mac “when searching for apps on the website, changing the platform to “Android” in the URL still allows you to view Android apps.”
Apple may have solved the issue with Android, but Verizon’s reaction will bring into the open a new one.
