Apple ordered larger screens for iPhone 5 according to sources
According to Reuters’ sources, the new iPhone will measure 4 inches from one corner to another. It seems that Apple already ordered the screen production, which is said to start in June, from three suppliers: LG Display, Sharp Corp and Japan Display Inc.
Reuters claims that Apple decided to produce a 4 inch display due to Samsung’s Galaxy S3 who came few weeks ago with a 4.8 inches display and a quad core processor:
“Apple’s decision to equip the next iPhone with a larger screen represents part of its competitive response to Samsung Electronics. Samsung unveiled its top-of-the line Galaxy smartphone with a 4.8-inch touch screen and a faster processor earlier this month.”
