Higher Storage Limits for iCloud just before WWDC
iCloud Storage APIs enables an app to store documents and key value data in iCloud. Yesterday, 30 May 2012 Apple has made an announcement for developers that the storage limits for iCloud Key Value Store had increased. The previous value was around 64KB and it has moved to 1MB per app.
It comes in handy for developers of apps that tend to synchronize small amount of user data with the help of iCloud synchronization. The fact is that change has been made a couple of weeks ago but the announcement is very recent, being published quite near the WWDC event. It could be seen as Apple’s strategy of highlighting the iCloud syncing, of using it at full length. It seems that the key/value store requires no special knowledge in the domain being easy to use and sync. So it would definitely come in handy for developers who create apps that synchronize a small amount of data to implement iCloud in them.
With only 12 days away from the World Wide Developers’ Conference, a lot of releases are expected, including iOS 6 or iOS 5.1.2, OS X mountain Lion and many other features.
