So far, rumors, concepts, and leaked iPad mini parts suggested that the mini model will be a similar but smaller version of the full length iPad. New reports from case makers claim that the iPad mini will be in fact a larger version of the iPod touch with narrow side bezels.
9to5Mac received the news that the iPad mini will ““look like a big iPod touch” with smaller bezels along the sides in portrait mode and separate volume buttons and not a “rocker” and a mic on the back.”
This kind of design is typical to smartphones, but also to e-readers such as Kindles and Nooks. If it will look as rumored, than the iPad mini will surely be more practical than the current iPad.
iMore, too, published a similar representation of the mini model. The design was imagined according to the information received from “several sources.” Beside the smaller side bezels, iMore adds that the profile will have the exact same size as the current iPod touch. The mockup compares the iPad mini with a full-length iPad and with the fourth-generation iPod touch.
In this article we were referring strictly at the design of the devices. The iPad mini may look as a larger iPod touch, as rumored, but it will actually be as powerful as an iPad.
