No Numerical Designation for Apple’s Sixth-Gen iPhone

A new image published by iPhoneniewsblog.nl unveiled that the iPhone 5 will be in fact named simply “iPhone.” The image shows freshly printed iPhone packaging. At a closer look, one can also note that “The New iPhone” has a larger display, due to the five vertical rows of icons, comes with iOS 6 and looks identical with the 4S model.

Yet, it is hard to take this image for granted.  Various reasons are denying its validity. For example, the factory where this photo was taken is not specified. Anyone with a printing factory can make such a sample. Also, Apple does not have a wide range of iPhone models but a simple designation like “The iPhone” will still create confusions. Moreover, Apple just announced the special release event on September 12 and the press invitations are illustrating a big hint at the name of the next-gen iPhone, namely the shadow of the number 12 is shaped as a 5.

Anyway, the sixth-generation iPhone is almost here and, officially, there are only six more days to torture our curiosity.
