Sparrow email client coming to iPad, probably at WWDC

The email client for iPhone is chuckling over success mentioning the fact that it recently received an update providing landscape composing, the ability to create and edit labels, folders, vertical message navigation and localization in 9 languages. Now producers have announced that an app will also be available in the nearest future and it’s predicted to be “something bigger”.

The Sparrow website has provided the possibility of subscribing for informing users when the app comes with news about its progress or news about the release date. Most users would want the new email client for iPad to include push notifications as main feature.

A couple of weeks ago, Sparrow’s developer argued that Push has plans in coming to the current iOS but it would have to be performed on Sparrow servers, needing a yearly subscription because of some issues with Apple restricting implementation of the feature:

You were more than 16 000 helping us on our Apple quest to get the VoIP privilege. We can’t thank you enough for your support. Unfortunately, Apple has confirmed that they are not willing to do any exception to the rule and that Sparrow will NOT be granted with the privilege.

This means we’ll have to do Push on our side and that it will be integrated as a yearly subscription into Sparrow’s future update.

WWDC is only a few days away and everybody is waiting eagerly to see if Sparrow for iPad will also be released among the expected iOS 5.1.2 or iOS 6, OS X Mountain Lion and Mini iPad.
