iPad: A Must Have in the Fashion World

Fashion designers are now moving into the digital age in designing their latest clothing line. The iPad is now being recognized as a fashionable digital accessory. Apple’s hit digital devices are now the driving force in the world of fashion. Almost 92% of fashion designers nowadays are using the iPad combined with notable apps such as Fashion GPS, to manage logistics.

Gone are the days where designers carry bulky sketch pads and the messy charcoal pencils just to be ready when an idea sprung up. Nowadays, designers just need to swipe and simply touch the screen to sketch a design. Revisions are much easier and faster done. Adding the ergonomic design, it can fit in a small bag that fashion aficionados and designers usually carry. Before the claim to fame of the Apple devices, pictures should look great for the desktop for it was the main screen on which pictures are viewed. “Now it’s the opposite,” says fashion photographer Uzo Oleh, “more people make decisions based on pictures and websites seen from their iPhones or iPads.”

This is also a convenient and effective way to market fashion products. Designers and fashion organizers have the ability to sell products to customers through apps. With the integration of the iPad in the fashion world, consumer satisfaction and productivity can easily be attained. As we can clearly see, the iPad has evolved from the “it” thing to a necessity of so many. The application where we can use the iPad is boundless and only our mind limits its full potential.

The new iPad is more widely used in the U.S.

A report from Localytics, the software company that offers mobile app analytics platform, claimed that the new iPad users exceeded the number of the iPad 2 users in just two months since the release of the latest model. Moreover, the third-generation iPad currently reached 50 % than the launch week share.

Anyway, the iPad 2 remains the most used of Apple’s iPad models, thus, it will take a while for the new tablet to reach the scores of its predecessor, though it is successfully selling.

Report from Gartner showed that iOS dominates the media tablet market. Though the release of Window 8 may interfere with the iPad selling, iOS is still expected to account for 61.4% of worldwide tablet sales to end users in 2012.

“Despite PC vendors and phone manufacturers wanting a piece of the pie and launching themselves into the media tablet market, so far, we have seen very limited success outside of Apple with its iPad,” said Carolina Milanesi, research vice president at Gartner.
