Powerflask:battery for your iDevices

There is no sense to deny, that most technologies changes constantly. Tvs, cameras, laptops and iPhones. Compare one of them with its brother from 10 years ago and see, that it can be almost beyond our recognition. Well, except one, may be-batteries. I can’t say, that this technology hasn’t changed at all. But those tiny batteries, that keep our devices measured in weeks and not days or hours, are above our attainment.

Well, there are the Morphies Juice and Air power sleeves, which are perfect, if you know in advance that you’ll need an extra power for your batterry, or an external battery pack, that can be used as a charge for your phone.

The Digital Treasures Powerflask is a new approach to solve the problem. This tech is a pack that can charge an iPhone and one or two iPads at the same time. It looks like a quality product with its metal at top and a leather bottom with contrasting red stitches and won’t be out of place with your stylish iDevices.

flask1

There are three ports at top: two USB ports with a small red LED that lights up when it’s used; and USB port for charging it. The first port is used only by phones, while the other is suitable for both a phone and iPad. Besides, the flask includes two micro-USB to Apple connectors to charge two iDevices. The flask can be charged from main power or, for example, from a laptop.

The capacity of the Powerflask is equal to 13,000mAh, that is enough for charging the iPad’s and iPhone’s batteries. 12 hours-and both devices are still fully-charged and are in the same state as if they have just been charged. Of course we need remember that the iPad 3 and 4 need twice the battery power, so the use of the Powerflask will be less.

One more advantage is its size, that allows to carry it in your pocket or a handbag. The Powerflask has almost the same height as an iPhone 4, but it’s a little bit thicker and wider than it.

The iPhone’s successful evolution from 2007 until today (The iPhone-era)

It’s clear that in 2007, Steve Jobs wanted to write history, to come up with something brand-new that would revolutionize the world of media. He may not have in mind the quote of the famous transcendentalist Emerson “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail” but he surely wanted to create something that would last and make his name known, to launch him into immortality.

The original iPhone was released in June 2007 and by September 2007, 1 million samples were sold. Back then it was seen as a new toy that anyone should have and those that didn’t afford to buy one, dreamt of it. Statistics argue that the second iPhone, 3G, released in 2008 met success in a flash because it took 3 days to sell 1 million smartphones. In 2009, things were beginning to look brighter for the Apple Company but not so bright when it came to Steve Job’s health. Released on 19 June 2009, the next gadget iPhone 3GS managed to have the same amount of sale as in last year but this time in only 2 days.

Also,as expected, the year Apple invented the iPad was quite favorable for business. More precisely, in 2009, 600.000 samples were ordered before its release so the sale of 1 million smartphones was expected in that precise day. iPhone 4S is by far the smartphone that has enriched the Apple Company selling over 4 million gadgets in only 3 days after its release.

What can I say more, stay tuned for Apple’s next masterpiece release!

Why Siri can’t be integrated in the iPhone 4

Since the October release of the iPhone 4S, everybody was suspicious and curious about the differences between the old gadget and the band new one. If we were to analyze the two devices in detail, few things would be remarked from an exterior perspective.

What surely made the latest version of the iPhone, namely iPhone 4S chuckle over success was the virtual personal assistant Siri. It’s said that Siri had come to the iPhone 4S as to establish the difference between the two devices. After the October release, there was an attempt of integrating the personal assistant to a previous version of the iPhone.

Now sources highlight the fact that Siri can’t be integrated in the iPhone 4 because it does not possess a certain noise cancellation circuitry that is encountered in the iPhone 4S’s  A5 CPU.

CNet states:

Apple’s A5 processor includes noise-reduction circuitry licensed from a start-up called Audience, and a chip analyst believes that fact resolves an iPhone 4S mystery and explains why the iPhone 4 lacks the Siri voice-control system.

Audience revealed details of its Apple partnership in January, when it filed paperwork for an initial public offering (IPO) of stock. Teardown work from iFixit and Chipworks revealed a dedicated Audience chip in the iPhone 4, but the iPhone 4S integrates Audience’s “EarSmart” technology directly into the A5 processor, the company’s S-1 filing said.

The details answered a question that Linley Group analyst Linley Gwennap had about the A5 chip that powers the iPhone 4S: why is it so big? Larger processors are more expensive and can consume more power, and chip designers strive to trim every last square millimeter from their designs.

The New York Times gets from Apple the same treatment that Gizmodo got

Apple ceased to send Gizmodo invitations to its media events since the iPhone 4 scandal, when a stolen prototype of the device got into Gizmodo’s possession; instead of returning it to the company, the blog thoroughly described the device, unveiling Apple’s future product.

It happen the same to The New York Times; the editorial was not invited at the prerelease presentation of OS X Mountain Lion. Apple sent invitations to all media, starting with great editorials and ending with popular IT blogs, and even to independent bloggers.

The New York Times published an article in which an anonymous Apple executive claimed that the company is indifferent to the horrible working conditions in China factories:

“We’ve known about labor abuses in some factories for four years, and they’re still going on,” “Why? Because the system works for us. Suppliers would change everything tomorrow if Apple told them they didn’t have another choice.”

Tim Cook talked about the scathing allegations in a letter for the workers and said that

“some people are questioning Apple’s values today,” “any suggestion that we don’t care is patently false and offensive to us.”

If the Times will receive or not an invitation from Apple to a future media event is not that important because the editorial already gained a bad reputation and made a fool out of itself as its report about the prerelease “hit the web late.”

90 percent of iPhone buyers would go for the 4S model

Apple’s profit increased once with the iPhone 4S’ release on 14th of October. People bought the 4S model mostly on the winter gifting season but the selling continued also after the holidays, turning out that nine out of ten customers choose the iPhone 4S instead of other iPhone model.

The Customers Intelligence Research Partners analyzed Apple’s sales of iPhones since the release of the 4S model and until the end of the Q1 and revealed that 89 percent buyers prefered the 4S, 7 percent the iPhone 4 model and only 4 percent remained with the 3GS.

CIRP co-founder Mike Levin confessed to AllThingsD the interesting effect the iPhone 4s produced over buyers: it seems that, even though the iPhone4 was released from almost a year, 19 percent of iPhone owners upgraded to the 4S model. This smartphone is the Apple’s first source of revenue and lately the company sold mostly iPhone 4S models.

The large selling increased also the request for manufacturing materials. And Apple knows the key of success, so once the bills for materials started to advance same did the earnings for Apple.  CIRP’s research of the iPhone selling explains once again the jaw-dropping success of Apple’s Q1.

iPhone gains chameleon skills with the brand new thermochromatic cases.

The iPhone protection cases are no longer a boring concept. The new models of cases can protect your iPhone from dust, scratches, dirt and liquids while maintaining the same cut and aspect of it and be entertaining at the same time due to the thermochromatic construct.

Incase added a new model on its large list once with the release of Thermo Snap Case. It is developed to suit in a perfect harmony your iPhone 4 (AT&T and Verizon too) or iPhone 4S, it has the same protection potential with the one that Incase got us used to and it is cute enough to answer to your warm touches. The case changes its color each time you touch it because it reacts to your body heat. In contact with a colder temperature it gets back to its usual color.

XtremeMac implemented Incase’s thermochromatic concept to its Tuffwrap cases and developed the Tuffrwrap Shift color changing case. It is fabricated from a durable polyurethane material that does not interfere with the sleek shape and aspect of your iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Color changing is activated by heat and each time you touch the case your prints will remain visible. Tuffrwrap Shift is available in more than one color, unlike Thermo Snap Case, namely Blue/White, Pink/White, Purple/Blue, Grey/White, Green/White and Orange/Yellow.

It’s funny how your iPhone can respond to your gestures due to these heat sensitive cases. It’s like breathing life into it with each touch. Now your phone will literally bear your prints.
