iPhone 5 Demands Topping Two Million in 24 Hours

Who said that the customers were disappointed by Apple’s new iPhone? Pre-orders are showing that the iPhone 5 is selling like hot cakes and faster than the previous iPhone models, reaching two million units in first 24 hours. That’s more than twice as many iPhone 4S pre-orders a year ago.

The fabulous iPhone 5 demands from last Friday caused Apple to delay the shipments, but the number of the pre-ordered devices was not mentioned. Today Apple confirmed that the iPhone 5 demands topped two million, scoring also a new record.

“Apple® today announced pre-orders of its iPhone® 5 topped two million in just 24 hours, more than double the previous record of one million held by iPhone 4S. Demand for iPhone 5 exceeds the initial supply and while the majority of pre-orders will be delivered to customers on September 21, many are scheduled to be delivered in October.”

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, expressed his joy concerning the pre-orders result: “iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal.”

Moreover, according to AT&T’s count the iPhone 5 is the fastest selling iPhone that the company has ever offered. The carrier did not mention a sales number but just noted that since Friday, the iPhone 5 was ordered more than any previous model.

So far, we can conclude that customers are not disappointed by the iPhone 5, even if they are choosing the device for its tech specs or for its brand. We’ll just have to wait and see if Apple’s iPhone 5 will become the best-selling gadget of all time.
