20th Century Fox Joins Universal on iCloud

Apple’s argue with HBO has come to an end. Few months ago, Apple finished the debates with HBO who agreed to make Universal Pictures content available for download. Fox went live this Thursday and joined the other movie studios on iCloud.

Thus, iCloud users can now download content from Lions Gate Entertainment, Sony Pictures, Walt Disney, Paramount Pictures, Time Warner’s Warner Bros, Universal Pictures and 20th Century Fox.

Back in March,  movie catalogs from both Universal Pictures and Fox were accessible, but only Universal movies were available for download. Several iCloud users noticed last night that the warning marking movies from Fox had disappeared, meaning that Fox Studios finished negotiations with HBO and got loosened of its constraints.

Universal Studios’ movies available on iCloud

Apple’s last month debates with HBO have come to an end, thus, iCloud users can now download content from Universal Pictures while 20th Century Fox remains reticent.

Due to HBO’s constraints, Universal was unable to integrate its movies with Apple’s iCloud in March, but this weekend the Universal content became available through iCloud. These are some good news especially for the users who previously purchased Universal movies from iTunes, now being able to re-download them for no cost.

In iTunes, the movies from Fox contain a warning that accentuates the fact that “when purchased, this movie will not be available from iTunes in the Cloud.” Meanwhile, the Universal content was absolved from this warning.

20th Century Fox is still negotiating with HBO and expects to make its movies available through iCloud as soon as possible

iCloud users to access Universal and Fox movies

After days of argument with important movie studios, namely Lions Gate Entertainment Corp., Sony Corp.’s Sony Pictures, Walt Disney Co., Viacom Inc.’s Paramount Pictures and Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros, Apple finally got to the agreement that people will be able to watch movies on its devices, including Apple TV, through the iCloud service.

Apple already had an agreement with popular record labels and television studios, but Apple seems to have thought to bring also movie makers into discussion once with the release of the new iPad that has a highly capable screen.

Meanwhile, other two major companies, namely Universal Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox, are unable to integrate their movies with Apple’s iCloud due to their deal HBO, Time Warner’s TV channel, and to HBO’s exclusive rights.

As a matter of course, HBO will not give up to its exclusive windows, which allows the channel to beam a new movie to consumers, but it might consider to enable iCloud users to send a movie they own to other devices during the restriction period of time.

The Fox and Universal companies are willing to integrate with Apple’s iCloud, reason for which HBO might loosen its contract with both of them. But the debates are still in progress.

Apple offers to consumers resources and devices for a better technology experience on lots of plans, such as music, education and business, and it seems that its new aim, namely the movie field, is also close to its accomplishment

iTunes Review – Movies worth watching

There are some movies that have such a strong impact that after they’re over you end up saying “I wish my life was a movie”.We’re not going to focus especially on brand new movies, old ones are also in line so we hope to convince you that they’re worth the shot.

First on the list is Water for Elephants. It’s the story of a forbidden love, between Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattison.  What brings them together is the passion for elephants; the one that has the biggest brain of all land animals. The Circus, the area where the action takes place is the land of dreams, where you manage to live properly if you raise up to the public’s expectations. You encounter action, drama and last but not least love.

One that definitely captured our attention and seen it over 3 times is Pride and Prejudice. Although it was released in 2005, Keira Knightly and Matthew MacFadyen make it merely dreamy.  Jane’s Austen masterpiece is the classical story of romance, the myth of soul mates and of everlasting love. It provides such an emotional force that makes one wonder if true love really exists. Being completely from two diffrent worlds, from different social rangs, Elisabeth Bennett and Mr. Darsy manage to attain the quest of love.

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is third in line and managed to overcome our expectations.  Some say that if it’s under Jim Carry’s mark it’s definitely a good one. And so it was, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation succeded in providing an appealing family comedy. It’s about finding the things that really matter in life and in keeping dear ones as long as you can nearby.  The funny thing is that a penguin manages to do all the work. If you manage to learn life’s lesson and find that something that all seek and few encounter, you can really say that life is worth being lived every single day with good and bad parts.

We saved another cathy movie for the ending. One Day is a living example of „ People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime”. Despite being separated merely all the time,  Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew managed to keep their feelings alive and hope  that one day life would have something in store for both of them and finally get together. We can only say that it’s under the sign of unpredictibility and it does not fallow the basic formula of boy meets girl and they lived happily ever after.

Please do reply if anything that we have stated appeals to you.

Apple launches Genius recommendations for Apple TV

Apple has launched this weekend a backend update for Apple TV called Genius recommendation, which offers TV shows or movie suggestions based on  what you’ve watched before and your recent purchases. This functionality is not new to Apple users, as iTunes already offers Genius recommendations on the Mac and iOS devices. The system works like Netflix’s “Suggested for you”, as suggestions seem to be made only taking in consideration your viewing habits.

The service works quite fine if you rate your favorite movies. I guess it’s an appropriate feature for the upcoming Apple television needed especially by users looking for a certain type of content. For the service availability you only have to update you Apple TV software to the current version.
