New Redesigned Line of iPod Touch and Nanos

Apple just got out of its pockets tiny new toys, namely an ultra-thin iPod touch and a completely redesigned iPod nano.

The new iPod touch is the skinniest of the line. It weights 88 grams and is only 6.1 millimeters thick.  And this is by far only the beginning! It comes with iOS 6, Siri, an A5 processor, a 4-inch widescreen retina display, and an upgraded 5 MP rear camera. You can now have entertainment at the will of your pocket, including games, music and internet!

The new iPod Nanos look like cute, little iPhones. The completely redesigned MP3 player comes with a large display, a more powerful battery, and for the first time, with Bluetooth.

The iPhone 5 may be out of our expectation, at least of some of us, but the new iPod touch and iPod nano are certainly a big surprise for all of us.

iPhone 5, New iPod Touch, and New iPod Nano Designations Revealed on Apple’s Site

Apple took us by surprise with the name of the third iPad, calling it ‘the new iPad’ but today’s media event will not come with such surprises anymore. If you search on Apple’s site anything related to the devices rumored to be released today by Apple, namely the next-gen iPhone, iPod touch and Nano, you will receive relevant results that confirm the ‘iPhone 5,’ ‘New iPod touch’ and ‘New iPod Nano’ designations.

Anyway, clicking on the results will open a page with the “not found” error. But this is caused by the fact that Apple’s site is down to be filled with new devices and other new Apple goodies. The pages will be available in few hours.

As iMore claims, there are only 6 weeks left to separate us from the new iPhone. Trusted sources informed iMore about the release dates of iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and also of a new iPod nano.

“iMore has heard that Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, with the release date to follow 9 days later on Friday, September 21. This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past.”

No specific information about the release date of iPad Mini and the new iPod nano was provided, but both devices will be announced on September 12, too, at the same special event.

Last week, App4Phone received from Chinese manufacturing sources the news that iPhone 5 will be released on September 21. This report comes to confirm what iMore has recently heard. Also, a purported, fully assembled iPhone 5 body was brought into the open by iLab Factory.

New iPod Touch and iPod Nano to Come Along with iPhone 5 in September

According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will have a busy schedule for this September and October. Kuo predicted in the past other release plans of Apple, such as the 17-inch MacBook Pro’s withdraw and that iPhone 5 will use in-cell touch technology for a slimmer profile. As mentioned in his report from Monday, the next iPod touch will include in-cell touch display technology, too.

Kuo believes that the “all-new” iPod touch and iPod nano models will bring considerable sales growth, but mostly due to the iPod nano:

“Though all new design iPod touch and iPod nano will be launched, growth momentum will mainly come from the latter. The new iPod touch, like iPhone 5, uses in-cell panel, whose availability is limited in the initial stage. Shipments will therefore be hindered.”

The Japanese blog Macotakara claimed in a report that the fifth-generation iPod touch will swith to a 4-inch display instead of 3.5-inch and will have the same CPU as the iPhone 4S but with a different, aluminum back-case design.

Also, the new iPod nano will have an LCD, rectangular display, a home button specific to iOS devices, and an oblong body.
